XRD is a powder diffraction method and delivered sample needs to be carefully powderized. A standard measuring dish has container for powder with diameter ca. 25 mm and ca. 1.5 mm deepth.Before measurement powder needs to be mildly pressed, so the required amount of sample
is ca. 2 ml at minimum. If the amount of delivered sample is too small to fill in the standard dish, the measurement will be performed with an application of 'background-lack dish', made from the silicon crystal. |
